Films under the stars at Birmingham Botanical Gardens

After a successful run last year, Birmingham Botanical Gardens are hosting a further six nights of open air cinema throughout July and September with Cult Screens - the UK’s most luxurious outdoor cinema experience!

Film buffs are invited to indulge in six classics on the Birmingham Botanical Gardens large lawn, surrounded by their spectacular glasshouses and a beautiful range of beds and shrubberies - the perfect summer location to sit back and relax in with the whole family.

What do you do when the woman you love is in thrall to a group of vampires? Find out exactly what brothers Michael and Sam decide upon and revel in some 80s nostalgia with our showing of The Lost Boys, Wednesday, 4 July.

Then, experience the magic of early showbiz with P.T. Barnum in The Greatest Showman; watching as he creates a spectacle that became a worldwide sensation on Thursday, 5 July.

If you like a dance and sing-along, you can also get swept away by the love story of Baby and Johnny as they prepare for the last big dance show of the summer in Dirty Dancing, Friday, 6 July.

If that’s not enough, as the sun goes down over the Gardens on Friday, 14 September, we’ll be showing rom-com classic Pretty Women; the perfect pick for couples or parents looking for a romantic night away from the kids.

However, for those looking for something a little more gritty, join us for a showing of Leon, starring a young Natalie Portman and Gary Oldman, Thursday 13 September. Alternatively, explore another Gary Oldman flick, World War 2 drama Darkest Hour. Oscar-winner Oldman stars as Churchill and tells the story of one of his most troubling trials, exploring a peace treaty with Adolf Hitler. Showing on Saturday, 15 September, this film will bring our cinema season to a close.

Guests can bring their own food and drink, or purchase craft beers, prosecco and cocktails from the fully stocked bar. Delicious hot and cold food will also be available from the pop-up Kurbside Kitchen.

General admission tickets for each film start from £13.95 plus booking fee for adults (£9.50 plus booking fee 5-17). For more information, seating options and to purchase tickets, visitwww.cultscreens.co.uk/birmingham.
