ICC Nissan Trophy Tour

Heroes will become champions as part of the ICC Nissan Trophy Tour, as fans get the opportunity to nominate people that deserve to be recognised for their contribution to cricket and the wider community.

Whether it’s the groundsman at a local club or youngster who is dedicated to developing his or her cricketing skills, the Trophy Tour will champion them. People can nominate here. Winners will receive two tickets to ICC Champions Trophy 2017 or ICC Women’s World Cup 2017 match.

The combined tour over 30 days during May will see the ICC Champions Trophy and ICC Women’s World Cup travel together for the first time ever to visit each of the seven host cities for the two tournaments.

It will start in Taunton on Tuesday 2 May and finish at The Oval on Thursday 1 June for the opening match of the ICC Champions Trophy 2017, England v Bangladesh.

 The other key dates are:

5, 6 and 11 May – Bristol

7 to 10 May – Cardiff

13 to 17 May – Birmingham

18 to 20 May – Derby

21 to 24 May – Leicester

25 to 31 May – London

As well as allowing fans to get close to the two trophies, the tour will also celebrate local heroes and help them become champions. People can nominate anyone they think deserve to be recognised for their contribution to cricket and the wider community.

ICC Chief Executive, David Richardson, said:

For the first time ever we are combining the ICC Champions Trophy and ICC Women’s World Cup Nissan Trophy Tours meaning we can reach more fans than ever before.
The Trophy Tour provides a wonderful opportunity to bring fans closer to the game and build excitement for back to back events in the UK this summer. It also gives us the chance to celebrate local heroes who are the real champions of our sport.

The Trophy Tour will visit clubs, schools and iconic locations to allow as many fans as possible to see the Trophies during the build up to the tournaments. Some of the highlights will include:

2 May in Taunton – A visit to The County Ground for Somerset v Kent

5 May in Bristol – A visit to the County Ground for England v Ireland

10 May in Cardiff – Cricket in castles around South Wales

15 May in Birmingham – Attock Cricket Club will be host to the trophies for a special cricket event
