Horse of the Year Show

3-7 October, Genting Arena

The countdown is on until Horse of the Year Show takes place at Birmingham’s NEC Genting Arena, celebrating its 70th Anniversary!

Plans are really taking shape and there are lots of the usual crowd favourites to look forward to such as the Pony Club Mounted Games, National Showing and International Showjumping Classes, as well as some new offerings to celebrate the show’s Platinum Jubilee including four fabulous displays.

The four displays for this year include; The Household Cavalry Mounted Regiment Musical Ride, the Musical Drive of the Heavy Horses, GB Vaulters “Show Time” and Alizée Froment “L’Esprit Equestre” who is sure to impress as she showcases her incredible talent for the first time in front of a UK crowd.

This year’s Show is setting supreme standards by adding Olympic Gold Medallist and master of dressage, Carl Hester MBE to the line-up. A renowned Olympic Dressage rider who needs no introduction, Carl is the trainer of the famous duo Charlotte Dujardin and Valegro, who stole the heart of the dressage nation following their consecutive individual gold medal wins at the London 2012 and the Rio 2016 Olympic Games as well as multiple riders who have had global success using his training techniques.

Having delivered the Dressage Masterclass at HOYS in 2016, HOYS fans can rest assured that they are in for a real treat! With Carl’s extensive knowledge of competing at such a high level he is the perfect rider and trainer to host the HOYS Dressage Masterclass for the 70th Anniversary Show. You can watch the Dressage Masterclass on Thursday 4th October.

If shopping is more your thing then there is a vast Retail Village at HOYS home to over 250 tradestands selling country and leisure wear as well as equestrian specific items, homeware, food and drink so you can find the ideal souvenir or gift to take home. The Retail Village is a hub of activity with an area where you can ‘meet the horses’ and find out more about each of their breeds. The HOYS Live Zone is also located in the Retail Village which provides a platform for talks and demonstrations from leading industry experts as well as celebrity rider signings.

Horse of the Year Show has an unbeatable atmosphere and whether you are a budding competitor in the making or simply want an enjoyable family day out, you are sure to be leaving wanting to get in the saddle and give it a go yourself. With all day tickets starting from just £34.00, secure yours today by calling the Box Office on 0844 581 8282 or visit https://www.theticketfactory.com/hoys/online/
