Giant Slip n’ Slide at Birmingham Botanical Gardens

18-20 August

A giant 40-metre water slide is coming to Birmingham Botanical Gardens.

Thrill seekers aged five upwards will have the chance to ride the slide, which will be situated on the Gardens’ natural hill, on Friday, August 18 – Sunday, August 20 (11am until 5pm) at Splash! At the Gardens.

James Wheeler, CEO at Birmingham Botanical Gardens said:

We are always looking for new ways to entertain families over the summer and this could be our wildest one yet. This slide is 40 metres long, making the tickets extremely good value for money. We advise keen riders to book early to get as many rides in as they can!

Splash! At the Gardens will cost £3 for two goes and includes use of lilos (normal admission prices into the Gardens apply – see website for prices). For those that just can’t get enough of the fun, wristbands are available to book ahead of the day for unlimited access to the giant waterslide for just £10.

The giant waterslide promises to be a highlight of the summer, with children’s entertainment to keep the children amused and live music for adults.

Splash! At the Gardens is just one of many exciting events planned for the summer holidays. Families can get up, close and personal with a collection of birds of prey at a falconry display on Tuesday, August 15. The following week, the circus is back in town on Tuesday, August 22. Children are being invited to see the summer out in style with the annual Teddy Bears’ Picnic taking place on Wednesday, August 23. Bring your bear and your best costume and meet Bertie the Bear!

Established in the early 19th century, Birmingham Botanical Gardens features four spectacular glasshouses, a lively birdhouse, wildlife trails and seasonal butterfly house, all situated on 15 acres of flourishing gardens and foliage in the heart of Edgbaston. The horticultural attraction is an education charity that receives no external funding and relies on visitor membership and admission fees to keep the organisation blooming.

Tickets and wristbands are available online here – booking is advised. For more information on events at Birmingham Botanical Gardens, visit www.birminghambotanicalgardens.org.uk/whatson.
