Sainsbury's Birmingham Grand Prix
24 August, Alexander Stadium
The Sainsbury’s Birmingham Grand Prix returns to the West Midlands on August 24, and looks set to be another spectacle with double world and Olympic Champion Mo Farah and world 400m champion Christine Ohuruogu already confirmed for the prestigious IAAF Diamond League event. Greg Rutherford, Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce and home favourite Robbie Grabarz have all starred in the West Midlands in previous years, and this year is expected to attract the biggest names in track and field once again in the summer.
Another world-class line-up is expected once again for 2014. For more information, visit www.britishathletics.org.uk
The grand finale of the 2014 athletics calendar will welcome some of the world’s best Paralympians back to Birmingham for the Sainsbury’s IPC Grand Prix Final. After a successful initiation last year, with London 2012 gold medallists Jonnie Peacock, David Weir and Hannah Cockroft headlining the proceedings, the stage is set for an explosive finale at Birmingham’s Alexander Stadium.
