Back for it's 6th year, Swingamajig Festival 2018 will be returning to our Beloved Birmingham on May 6th - join us for a show like no other!
Brought to you by Electric Swing Circus and the production team behindShambala Festival - put on your dancing shoes and get lost in a multi-venue vintage inspired wonderland, in the industrial, beating heart of the second city.
Expect world class dance, circus, burlesque, cabaret and an eye-wateringly epic line up of bands and DJs - alongside walkabout performances, art installations, delicious street eats and a serious vintage bazaar.
The music at Swingamajig is as varied as our wonderful audience - from vintage swing & rock n roll, to hip hop & jungle, Balkan big bands to floor filling music from around the world.
Swinjamajig are beyond excited to finally be able to announce this year's headliners - so without further ado, make way for...
THE ONE AND ONLY... SLAMBOREE!
Take a ten piece band with sound that richochets between balkan, gypsy and folk flavours, infuse it all with a healthy dose of breakbeat, drum & bass, techno, electro and dub, then chuck it in a haunted blender with an actual real life circus and just the right amount of crazy and you've almost got Slamboree.
This eclectic mix of entertainers, daredevils and incredible musicians bring a different blend of talent to every show, making every performance a unique and unforgettable experience - this motley crew are mindblowing live and crank the fun-o-meter up to 11. We're overjoyed to be bringing them to Swingamajig for the first time.
Check out their Soundcloud to get a little taste of the Slamboree sound and grab yourself a Swingamajig ticket to experience their unique brand of insanity first hand!
THE LEGENDARY... KING PLEASURE & THE BISCUIT BOYS!
For those who prefer to keep things a bit more traditional, we've got something very special in store. We're very proud to present one of the greatest swing bands in the world, King Pleasure & The Biscuit Boys.
These stalwarts have more than earnt their stripes over the past thirty years - with 11 albums and 50 television appearances under their belts. They've played an incredible 6,500 live performances in 21 countries and have shared the stage with greats like B.B King, Cab Calloway, Ray Charles and the real Blues Brothers Band.
Their roots lie firmly in dance-hall rhythm and blues but have evolved over the years to something very unique - a roaring musical swing storm, topped off with the delicious bourbon vocals of King Pleasure. This set is sure to become the stuff of Swingamajig history - not one to be missed!
