Birmingham and Solihull Jazz Festival

14-23 July

It’s party time for Birmingham and Solihull Jazz Festival as the annual summer fest marks 33 years of sounds across the city with a celebration dinner featuring Midlands Kings of Swing, King Pleasure and the Biscuit Boys.

The May 25 event will take place at the newly-opened Birmingham Conference and Events Centre (BCEC), in Hill Street, and will also include Festival favourites, New Orleans-inspired band, Tipitina.

Since its 1985 debut the Festival has generated more than £68million, put on an amazing 6,072 performances – mostly for free – and attracted a total audience in excess of 2.6million people.

Festival Director, Jim Simpson, said:

The Festival has so much to celebrate. This year sees our 33rd anniversary, making it the longest-running festival in Birmingham, the longest jazz festival in England and the largest free jazz and blues event in Europe, and that’s certainly worth a party.

He added:

To mark our 33 glorious years we are putting on a celebration dinner, in the heart of Birmingham at BCEC, featuring King Pleasure and The Biscuit Boys and Tipitina – both bands are Festival favourites and guaranteed to make any party go with a swing.

Tickets, priced at £40, include a three course dinner alongside entertainment from King Pleasure and Tipitina, and are available here or by calling 0121 454 7020.
