Marvellous May Medicine and Macbeth

Blue Orange Theatre, Birmingham presents Roald Dahl’s GEORGE’S MARVELLOUS MEDICINE! 7-8 May

This is one of seven Roald Dahl children’s novels adapted for the stage by David Wood – including THE TWITS, THE BFG, FANTASTIC MR FOX, and JAMES AND THE GIANT PEACH. David Wood has also written, amongst many others plays, THE GINGERBREAD MAN, THE MEG AND MOG SHOW and THE IDEAL GNOME EXHIBITION.

Loved by children, worldwide, Dahl’s tale of a boy who creates a special medicine to cure his Grandma of her grumpiness has unexpected consequences not only for his Grandma but the family too!

Used to presenting adaptations of classic children’s tales, this is the first time that the Blue Orange Theatre has produced an established modern children’s author’s work and what better way than to start with Roald Dahl and renowned children’s playwright David Wood.
We also have a RESOURCE PACK full of interesting information about the play, the performance, the book and the author especially for schools. Email us for a pack or further information.

In a seemingly chance encounter, three witches foretell a great future for MACBETH. To achieve his potential, however, he must betray long-held oaths, bonds and loyalties. 6-15 March.

Shakespeare’s reach is truly global with his plays being performed across the world. Macbeth is arguably his most famous work and certainly one of his most popular. Written at a time when James I was struggling to maintain control over his lands and barons, Shakespeare’s political tales proved to be a stark and prophetic warning. A Blue Orange Arts production on national tour.

Tickets for this spin tingling show are just £10 with concessions at £8.50.
