PERFORMANCES/EVENTS - OCTOBER HALF TERM

YOUNGER KIDS

Fierce Festival presents Ant Hampton: Crazy But True - Sun 22 Oct, Theatre, Free, Ages 7+

An insatiable hunger for unlikely facts is something we all share, but children of a certain age are especially drawn to the 'crazy but true' genre, and often collect and trade such extraordinary information, recounting it to peers, parents - passing it on...
7-10 year olds are invited to participate in a 4 hour performance, but you can come and go as you wish, and can stay as long as you want. It seems the world gets weirder every year. The children will expose our part in that - us, the humans who have gone before them.

ROH Live: Alice's Adventures in Wonderland - Mon 23 Oct, Cinema, Tickets £18 / £16.20, All ages

At a garden party on a sunny afternoon, Alice follows the White Rabbit down a rabbit hole, and events become curiouser and curiouser…
Christopher Wheeldon’s Alice’s Adventures In Wonderland burst onto the stage in 2011 in an explosion of colour, stage magic and inventive choreography. Joby Talbot’s music and Bob Crowley’s wildly imaginative, eye-popping designs to create a visual spectacle both children and adults will adore. The delicious result shows the royal ballet at its best, bringing together world-class dance with enchanting family entertainment.

Half Moon Theatre: The Girl and The Giraffe - Tue 24 – Thu 26 Oct, Foyle Studio, Tickets £9 / £7 (£2 Babes in Arms), Ages 3-6 years

One day whilst Girl is playing in her garden, she spots something peculiar on the other side of the fence and comes face to face with a Giraffe! But Giraffe isn't very well and a plaster won’t make him better. Giraffe is sad, and sometimes we need a different kind of plaster for the things you can't always see. Charming puppetry, an enchanting soundscape and beautiful storytelling combine in this sensitive show about wellbeing and friendship, told from a child's perspective.

Ali Cook: The Art of Astonishment - Sat 28 Oct, Theatre, Tickets £13 / £10.50, Ages 8+

The star of West End marvels and big screen spectacles, Ali Cook’s critically acclaimed show is a masterclass of technique across a range of magic disciplines, including close up magic, mind reading, deception, sleight of hand, and escapology, expect an evening of magical invention and re-invention.
