Wimbledon and food festivals at the Mailbox
Summer is set to be an exciting season over at Birmingham’s premier lifestyle and shopping destination, with a specially curated programme of live events, music and entertainment, plus food and drink.
Kicking off the line-up on Monday 3rd July, the Mailbox’s luxurious Urban Room will be transformed into a beautiful summer garden, complete with artificial grass, deck chair seating and TV screens so visitors can sit back and watch sporting events throughout the summer, including the eagerly anticipated Wimbledon tournament.
Alongside this, Tom’s Kitchen Deli will be serving up a delicious selection of summer treats, including the classic strawberries and cream, Pimm’s and their usual freshly prepared and seasonal daily menu of sandwiches, salads, homemade cakes, coffees and Prosecco.
The Mailbox will also be giving a big welcome to the popular Birmingham Cocktail Weekend, which arrives in the city from 14th – 16th July. Wristband holders will get access to £4 signature cocktails at great venues across Birmingham throughout the weekend, including the Mailbox’s very own AC Hotels, Aluna, Harvey Nichols, Malmaison, Pennyblacks, Tom’s Kitchen and Churchills.
From 14th – 23rd July, the Mailbox will be alive with the sound of jazz and blues this summer, as the Birmingham International Jazz Festival returns. Featuring a range of talented performers from around the world, visitors can enjoy the festival feeling for free with performances each day in the marquee in the canal-side area of the Mailbox.
Don’t miss the Mailbox’s very own food and drink festival this summer, Taste of the Mailbox. From live cooking demonstrations to cocktail masterclasses, and sampling to wine, food and ale tasting, join the Mailbox on 12th and 13th August for a weekend of delicious food and drink. Highlights include an exciting pop-up restaurant at Harvey Nichols Bar & Restaurant, a walking food tour and live demonstrations with well-known foodie faces in Kitchen Gallery.
The Mailbox will also be sponsoring a bear as part of The Big Sleuth – a region wide public art event and campaign to raise money for Birmingham Children's Hospital.
The bear, which will be revealed soon when the trail starts on 10th July, will be located outside Harvey Nichols’ front entrance. Using The Big Sleuth app, visitors will also be able to get 10% off food at Tom’s Kitchen restaurant and deli.
David Pardoe, head of marketing, retail and tenant engagement at the Mailbox, comments:
Whether it’s fashion, dining or live events and entertainment, there is so much going on at the Mailbox this summer and we can’t wait to see our Urban Room transformed into a summer garden.
