Birmingham Comedy Festival Presents

PAST EVENT - 26 September 2013, Glee Club

For one night only Birmingham Comedy Festival Presents... finds the cream of next‐generation comedy talent coming together for a unique and never‐to‐be repeated event.

A regular on Channel 4’s topical Stand Up For The Week, Josh Widdicombe made his comedy debut just four years ago and has since scooped a truck of comedy awards and nominations, including Edinburgh Comedy Awards Best Newcomer Nominee 2011. He’s also toured the UK supporting Stephen Merchant, Alan Carr, Kevin Bridges and Michael McIntyre.

A fellow Edinburgh Comedy Awards Best Newcomer Nominee 2011, Holly Walsh has appeared in numerous comedy panel shows, including Never Mind The Buzzcocks and 8 Out Of 10 Cats, and is an accomplished comedy writer for both TV and radio. Among her writing successes are BBC3’s recent prison‐based sitcom Dead Boss, co‐written with Sharon Horgan and starring Jennifer Saunders.

They’re joined by Charlie Baker, Team Captain from C4's A Short History Of Everything Else and another TV regular, with such shows as Never Mind the Buzzcocks, Let's Dance for Comic Relief, Richard Bacon’s Beer and Pizza Club and The Rob Brydon Show Christmas Special to his credits. A much in demand compere, he’s incidentally also an accomplished jazz singer and musician, and has even appeared in Doctor Who!

Completing the line‐up will be a yet‐to‐be‐announced special guest and well‐travelled but now Brum‐based comic Mickey Sharma.

Tickets for the show will be on sale from Monday 23 July 2012 priced just £12.50 (£8 NUS), and are available from 0871 472 0400 or via www.glee.co.uk/birmingham

The next Birmingham Comedy Festival runs from Friday 5 to Sunday 14 October 2012. Further details will be announced in August.
