Ginger's Bar is a stylish bar and restaurant destination owned by Glynn Purnell. The concept epitomises the Manhattan style of drinking. Bartenders are on hand to create proper cocktails, served in surprising ways in the relaxed and warm surroundings at 11 Newhall Street. Liquid Economics, a selection of speciality cocktails priced at £4.50 is served daily from 12-8pm. The bar food menu is also available throughout the day from Purnell's Pantry. Ginger's Bar offer an extensive wine list, cask ales, beers/lagers and speciality cider.
You will need;
1oz/30ml of Havana 3 (White Rum)
1oz/30ml of Appleton VX (Golden Rum)
1oz/30ml Fresh Pineapple Juice
1oz/30ml Fresh Orange Juice
1/2 oz/15ml of 2:1 Sugar Syrup
3/4oz/22ml Lime Juice
- Shake all ingredients in a shaker and strain into an enamel mug. Top with an orange zest and a drop of muscavado sugar syrup.
For the Orgeat Espuma (foam) you will need;
500ml Cream Whipper
4 Egg Whites
200ml Orgeat Syrup (almond syrup)
50ml Apple Juice.
- Combine all ingredients in a jug and pour into the cream whipper. Chill for 1 hour. Remove from fridge and shake. Charge the canister with a nitrogen capsule then chill again, shake and use.
- If you dont have a cream whipper you can just add the muscavado and orgeat syrup to the drink. Add 1/4oz orgeat and a drizzle or tea spoon of muscavado.
Enjoy at Ginger's Bar at £4.50 from 12pm-8pm.
