Birmingham Botanical Gardens Easter Eggstravaganza!

On behalf of the Easter Bunny himself, we request the presence of your company at this year’s Easter Eggstravaganza!

1st - 6th April

11 am - 3 pm

From 1st April, 11am to 3pm, we have non-stop, fun-filled activities for everyone to enjoy. Join Bibbledy Bob, our favourite clown, for some delightful music and games, learn why chocolate is the food of the Gods or show off your skills with one of our many arts and crafts sessions throughout the week, and that’s not all!

Scour the undergrowth and investigate the treetops on Easter Sunday, 1st April, and you may get some surprises along the way. We’ve hidden away some wooden Easter eggs of our own in the grounds, come along and see how many you can uncover - you may even get a prize at the very end. If that doesn’t tickle your fancy, why not make your own tantalising treats in our chocolate factory? That’ll give you all the energy you need for the bouncy castle we’ll have set up on the day. If none of that sounds appealing, you can enjoy some relaxing arts and crafts, or face painting.

Moving into half-term, the fun doesn’t stop.

On Monday 2nd April, along with arts and crafts, face painting, a bouncy castle and Bibbledy Bob, we have an Easter Bonnet parade. Make your bonnet beforehand and be ready to show off your artistic abilities to everyone in attendance - even the Easter Bunny, who is due to make an appearance.

If you’re more of an animal lover, on Tuesday 3rd and Thursday 5th April our Corn Snake, Sand Boa, Chameleon and Bearded Dragon will be joining us for a presentation, along with some other friends we’d love you to meet. Spaces will be limited for this, so make sure you get to reception early to get your ticket.

If you decide to visit on Wednesday 4th April you can find out everything you need to know about Theobroma cacao (chocolate to me and you). Venture into the tropical rainforest and see if you can spot the cocoa or ‘cacao’ tree. Investigate it’s stunning flowers and magical cocoa pod before joining one of our free workshop sessions to learn more about your favourite treat.

James Wheeler, CEO of Birmingham Botanical Gardens, said,

This Easter visitors will be spoilt for choice with the many activities we have going on. Families can find out everything they need to know about chocolate in one of the workshops, or be entertained by Bibbledy Bob the clown and the arts and crafts or bouncy castle we will have on site. There will also be plenty of opportunities for adults to relax and soak up the sights and smells of the gardens, as well as enjoy some delicious cakes in our Pavilion Tea Room”.

Spread the Easter Bunny’s message and make sure you bring friends and family - we can’t wait to see you all there and enjoy a enchanting week with everyone!

Just to note, activities taking place throughout the week will run from 11am - 3pm, but some days they may start a little earlier or later. As a special offer, under 16s will be admitted for free when accompanied by a fee-paying adult or member. Standard admission prices apply for adults and some of our activites will incurr an extra small charge. Please take a look at our website for further details before you visit as some activities will only be taking place on certain days and will be weather dependent.

For more information about activities taking place throughout Easter, visit www.birminghambotanicalgardens.org.uk or call 0121 454 1860.
