The sun is shining, but if the rain returns it won't ruin your day at Drayton Manor Theme Park
With British summertime upon us, visitors to Drayton Manor Theme Park can evade the rain by taking advantage of the Rainy Day Guarantee.
For the remainder of June, the park, near Tamworth, Staffordshire, is allowing visitors to return for free on another date in June or September, if it rains continuously for two or more hours on the day of their visit.
There’s plenty to enjoy this season, as the much-loved attraction celebrates its 65th anniversary. To celebrate a family ticket for four people is priced at just £65, when booked online seven or more days in advance.
Europe’s only Thomas Land™ has recently undergone a £2.5 million expansion, seeing it increase in size by 40%. It has welcomed brand new rides, Flynn the Fire Engine, who is equipped with on-board hoses so riders can help to put any fires out, and Captain’s Sea Adventure, which introduces not one, but six rotating Captain lifeboat carriages, all complete with their own cannons to squirt water.
There is also a brand new two-storey Sodor Airport, with a top level balcony for VIP ‘travellers’ with not-to-be-missed views of Thomas Land.
Thomas Land now boasts over 25 rides and attractions, contributing to over 100 in total throughout the park. These include thrill rides such as Apocalypse, voted the UK’s scariest ride by Channel 5’s The Gadget Show, Europe’s only stand-up coaster, Shockwave, the stomach-churning gyro-swing, Maelstrom and the newest offering, the acrobatic aeroplane flight, Air Race.
William Bryan, Managing Director at Drayton Manor Theme Park, said:
The weather in British summertime is well known for its unpredictability. Heavy downpours and flash floods have been dampening the spirits of Brits on day outings for many years. That’s why we decided to do something about it!
We understand the value and importance of family fun, which is why we have launched this initiative to ensure the weather can no longer put a dampener on your day out.
*To qualify you must have purchased advanced tickets directly from Drayton Manor Theme Park. The rainy day return tickets will only be considered if it rains heavily and continuously for a period of over two hours between 10am and 5pm (Ride closing time). Rainfall after 5pm will not be considered. In order to claim the return visit guests will need to call the call centre on 08442 472 1960, giving their original reservation details so that a new reservation may be given for their return visit. Guests are asked to check the website prior to calling to ensure that their visit date has been deemed a rainy day. Visitors will then be able to return later in June or September for free. Please check the website for specified dates.
