The psychic penguins are back - This time ‘try’-ing their luck at the Rugby World Cup!

For an average colony of Gentoo penguins, predicting sporting results would be a feat they could only dream of; for the colony residing at The National SEA LIFE Centre Birmingham, it has become second nature.

Ginny Gentoo and her gang are kicking off the 2015 Rugby World Cup with a prediction for the opening game. With their waddling ways they have come to the conclusion that England will tackle its way through Fiji to take the opening four points of the tournament.

Just goes to show, the general public aren’t the only ones who are excited and confident for English triumph!

The penguins come into this tournament on the back of prediction success at last year’s big sporting event - the football World Cup in Brazil - and who’s to say they can’t drop-kick on for more glory this year?

Naomi Bird, Aquarist at the underwater themed attraction, said:

“We always get excited when something comes along for our psychic penguins to predict, and the they have great fun doing so too! It’s great to see that they are such a patriotic bunch going for England’s success. If the players believe in themselves half as much as the penguins believe in them, we’ve definitely got a shot!”

The National Sea Life Centre Birmingham transports visitors to an amazing underwater world, where they get to see incredible sea life from all over the planet, from the coast of Britain and the chilly Antarctic, to the tropical waters of the Caribbean.

The aquarium is home to over 2,000 creatures, such as sharks, as well as a rescued Giant Green Sea Turtle, jellyfish, piranha, octopus and rays.
