The Mailbox has luxury covered with completion of roof
Work has been completed on the Mailbox’s brand new roof, as the refurbishment of Birmingham’s premier retail and lifestyle destination moves a step closer to completion and excitement builds for the opening in Spring 2015.
Following customer feedback, the sky-lit glass roof has been built to protect visitors from the unpredictable British weather and will dramatically change the luxury retail destination’s environment, creating a light and airy setting for shoppers.
As well as the addition of a roof, the redevelopment is transforming the entire retail mall, complete with new impressive shop window designs and sleek store frontages.
An elegant but inviting space dubbed the “Urban Room” will also be created to provide visitors with a comfortable place to relax, gather and dine in a stress-free environment, all under-cover.
David Pardoe, retail manager at the Mailbox, says:
Completing the sky-lit roof is a momentous occasion, as it’s the most significant of many exciting changes in our redevelopment. In creating the new Urban Room, the enclosure will completely transform the environment within the Mailbox.
These developments are the result of extensive customer consultation and we are excited to be able to provide our discerning visitors with the enjoyable and luxurious shopping experience they deserve.
The refurbishment will also see Everyman Cinema open a three screen, 12,000 sq. ft. cinema in the spring.
Harvey Nichols, Emporio Armani, Nicky Clarke, Toni & Guy and BBC Birmingham remain open throughout the refurbishment, along with the Canalside bars, restaurants, hotels, commercial offices and car park.
