The Color Run returns to Birmingham in 2015
After the success of last year’s event, where more than 9,000 colour crazy runners covered themselves in colour at the NEC, The Color Run will be back in Birmingham, with a brand new twist for 2015.
Now in its third year, the ‘Happiest 5k on the Planet’ has spread its love and colour to more than 50 countries with an incredible 300+ events hosted worldwide.
Overwhelming interest from across the UK has seen additional venues added for the 2015 tour, after more than 85,000 happy ‘Colour Runners’ of all shapes, sizes and ages took part in The Color Run events across the country last year.
The Color Run sees participants covered in bursts of coloured powder at each kilometre of the 5k route. As it’s not a timed event, friends and families can walk, jog, dance and party their way along the course at any pace.
After crossing the finish line, powdered partygoers join the Colour Festival Area to enjoy a great mix of DJs, MCs, the infamous ‘Color Throws’ plus a host of colour giveaways.
And as if that wasn’t enough, brand new for 2015, the ‘Happiest 5k’ will shimmer and shine as participants are treated to a fifth colour zone where glitter explosions will light the skies.
James Robinson, MD of Challenger World said:
“After such a fantastic summer of events last year we can’t wait for the next series.”
“Our main focus is to help people have fun and be happy, without taking it too seriously. We were overwhelmed with the positive feedback from ‘Color Runners’ who took part last year.”
“The summer of 2015 promises to be even better and we’re all looking forward to seeing our friends from last year as well as plenty of first-timers!”
Additionally, The Color Run is pleased to announce that the National Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children (NSPCC) will be the official charity partner for 2015. Participants can support the children’s charity when they sign up by donating straight to the charity or setting up a fundraising page once they have entered.
NSPCC Director of Fundraising, Paul Farthing, said:
“We’re absolutely delighted to be the official charity partner of The Color Run in 2015. By taking part in one of these fun, colourful events and raising money for the NSPCC, people will be joining our fight for every childhood, helping us protect children and prevent abuse here in the UK.”
This year’s event takes place at The NEC on Saturday 15th August 2015. Registration opens today [Thursday 15th January 2015] at www.TheColorRun.co.uk. Event entries are priced at £26 for individuals and £24 p/person for group bookings (There is a £4.99 cost for postage and packaging of entry pack).
