The Botanist launches new cocktail to celebrate the International Dance Festival Birmingham

The Botanist is set to launch a limited edition cocktail to celebrate The International Dance Festival Birmingham 2016, which arrives in the city this May.

To commemorate one of Europe’s largest dance festivals, DanceXchange has worked with The Botanist’s experienced mixologists to create the celebratory cocktail, which will be available throughout the festival launching on 5 May.

IDFB and The Botanist are now calling on the public to suggest a name for the new drink for chance to win an IDFB package of; two free passes to a DanceXchange Class Programme for any dance styles of their choice, tickets to the Machine Show in Centenary Square on May 12 and of course a free winning cocktail.

The delicious dance-inspired cocktail is an exciting mix of Bombay gin, Aperol, and Elderflower cordial – topped off with a tangy orange zest garnish.  The competition opens on 28 April for the public to suggest a suitable name for the limited edition drink.

From May 1 venues, streets and squares across this city will welcome the fifth award-winningbiennial festival, and will showcase performances from 17 different countries across 39 free outdoor shows and 37 theatre productions across three amazing weeks.

Alice Welchman, Business Development Manager at The Botanist said:

We are delighted to be collaborating with International Dance Festival Birmingham and this year’s event sounds more spectacular than ever!
It’s great to see the city embrace dance in its many forms and styles, and we are sure the people of Birmingham will get behind our new cocktail with some really creative name suggestions.

The Botanist will also have a pop-up in Centenary Square on May 12where people can enjoy the newly named cocktail.

David Massingham, artistic director of DanceXchange and IDFB said:

We are so pleased and excited to be celebrating this year’s festival with The Botanist in such a unique way. We hope that everyone gets involved in naming and tasting the cocktail, whilst raising a glass to celebrate the diversity of dance in Birmingham.

Alice added:

We are thrilled to be working with the festival in what is set to be a very special event and I can’t wait for people to try the cocktail.

To suggest a name for the cocktail and be in with a chance of winning the IDFB package people simply need to send their suggestion to birminghambdm@thebotanist.uk.com, before Sunday 1 May.
