John Lewis to open Style Birmingham Live

Birmingham’s brand new flagship John Lewis store will open the catwalk show at this year’s Style Birmingham Live, organisers have revealed today.

Taking place on Saturday 26th and Sunday 27th September at Birmingham Museum and Art Gallery’s spectacular Gas Hall, Style Birmingham Live will be an unmissable weekend of fashion, shopping and beauty hosted by popular TV personality, Mark Wright.

Opening in Grand Central on Thursday 24th September the new John Lewis Birmingham will be one of the largest John Lewis shops in the UK.

At Style Birmingham Live John Lewis will be showing key pieces from its autumn/winter collection. This includes Somerset by Alice Temperley, Bruce by Bruce Oldfield, Kin, Reiss, Jaeger and a selection of brands from John Lewis's brand new fashion and lifestyle concept loved&found, including Des Petits Hauts and Samsoe & Samsoe.

Other retailers to appear in the show include Jigsaw, Marks & Spencer, House of Fraser, Moss Bros, Hawes & Curtis and award-winning independents Liquor Store and Disorder. A host of names from Bullring will also be presenting the latest styles including Cos, Topshop, Radley, Warehouse, Coast, Karen Millen, New Look, Jones Bootmaker, Debenhams and Michelle Keegan’s new Lipsy collection.

Steve Hewlett, BID manager at Retail Birmingham, adds:

We have some fantastic brands on board this year and we’re thrilled to now have the support of Birmingham’s much-anticipated John Lewis.
John Lewis is the cornerstone of all the exciting developments taking place in Birmingham this September so what better way to celebrate than to open our catwalk shows at Style Birmingham Live – the city’s fashion and shopping event of the year.

Style Birmingham Live has also teamed up with award-winning hairdressing company, Francesco Group, renowned makeup brand, MAKE UP FOR EVER, and nails inc. to provide the hair and makeup for the catwalk models throughout the weekend. Celebrity stylist, Mark Heyes, will appear alongside Mark Wright offering his expertise and style tips to Style Birmingham Live visitors.

What’s more, House of Fraser on Corporation Street will be hosting a 'Backstage Beauty’ event with headline activity from Bobbi Brown, who will be treating Style Birmingham Live ticket holders to an exclusive make-up masterclass hosted by Pro Artist, Amy Conway, who was trained by Bobbi Brown herself. These will take place on Saturday and Sunday at 12.15pm, 2.15pm and 4.15pm.
