Spend this Christmas Season in the Past at Black Country Living Museum
A season of events from 21 Nov – 24 Dec 2015
Black Country Living Museum will host an entire season of magical Christmas events and activities for all ages. Spend an evening strolling through a storybook canalside village, a weekend hunting for Santa or an afternoon stirring it up with costumed characters as you discover the delights of Christmas in the past.
Explore a festive 26 acres of shops and houses at the Museum’s Traditional Christmas Evenings and the Museum’s costumed characters will help you to discover the sights, sounds, tastes and smells of the past.
The gas-lit cobbled streets serve as the backdrop for Christmas entertainment including carol singing, street entertainers, comedic panto, live brass bands and more. There’ll be a mouth-watering menu of festive food and drink available including smoked meat, real ales and roast chestnuts as well a Christmas market. Plus, don’t forget to say hello to Santa by the fireside!
The Museum will also see families on the hunt for Santa across the festive season in their highly popular Santa Hunts. Children and parents alike can embark on a fun-filled search for Santa, meeting a series of festive characters along the way. Decipher clues to find Santa’s workshop and receive a surprise gift. Costumed guides will help sprinkle magic dust on reindeer shoes, write letters to Santa and search for mischievous gingerbread men.
If you can’t make it to a special event, the Museum will be running Christmas in the Home activities across the site on the five weekends running up to Christmas. You’ll experience some festive domestic bliss as costumed characters prepare for Christmas with traditional decorations and recipes from the one and only Mrs Beeton’s Book of Household Management.
