Resorts World Birmingham Comes to Life on Wednesday 21st October at 10.00am

Europe’s first resort destination, Resorts World Birmingham, located on the NEC campus, will open its doors for the first time on Wednesday 21st October.

The first day will see the resort coming to life with a whole host of retailers including Next Outlet, Nike Factory Store and GAP Outlet opening their doors as well as a diverse range of other exciting high street names in fashion, homewares and gifts. Over the coming weeks Resorts World Birmingham will gather momentum as more and more of the resort’s outlet shops, bars  restaurants and other facilities welcome guests.

Cineworld will be part of the Resorts World Birmingham offer with an eleven screen complex that includes a purpose built IMAX auditorium and will be opening on 23rd October in time for the most eagerly awaited  release of the year, the new Bond movie Spectre.

Guests looking to stay overnight will be able to enjoy the four star Genting Hotel, the first to open in Europe and relax in the medi- spa that includes a wide range of innovative treatments, a pool, outside hot tub and salt cave. Hotel guests will be welcomed from November 2nd.

18 bars and restaurants will be resident at Resorts World Birmingham including favourites such as TGI Friday’s and Pizza Express and new offers such as the Robata Bar and Grill specialising in Pan Asian cuisine, the New York influenced High Line Bar and Lounge and the World Bar which is located right opposite the Genting Arena. 

Resorts World Birmingham will also play host to the Genting International Casino which will open to celebrate the launch of the James Bond movie on October 26th and the state of the art conference and banqueting facility the VOX.

With the opening now only a matter of days  away, this week also sees the launch of the new Resorts World Birmingham website ( which will provide information on all that is happening at the resort including special events as well information on parking, opening hours and offers.


Commenting on the impending opening of the £150m leisure and entertainment destination, Genting UK President and Chief Operating Officer Peter Brooks said;

We are very excited following a two year build programme that Resorts World Birmingham is coming to life. We can’t wait for the first major milestone in that journey  when we open our doors for the first time Wednesday 21st October. There will be  much more to experience at Resorts World Birmingham as the weeks go by and the resort becomes fully operational. We have a full programme of exciting events between our opening day and the end of the year which will demonstrate the wide range of experiences available to our guests.
