The National Sea Life Centre Birmingham was delighted to welcome the Conservative Environment Network and Great British Oceans Coalition at an event earlier this week.
Andy Boole, Head of SEA LIFE Trust commented:
Thank you to everyone who has helped make some significant strides forward in protecting the marine environment - the organisations who campaign for positive change and the government alongside them who make the legislation.
Initiatives like the carrier bag charge, a ban on microbeads and the extension of the blue belt around the British overseas territories will make a huge difference.
Hopefully the public support behind these initiatives helps give decision-makers and the government the confidence to build on these efforts and ensure that Brexit works to enhance sustainability of UK seas and fisheries.
