OPM Takeover - Second to Last Weekend of Summer Screenings at Regency Wharf’s Pop-Up Open Air Cinema, Rum Runner Yard.

Rum Runner Yard (hidden away in the middle of Regency Wharf) have been hosting a Pop-Up Open Air Cinema showing 10 screenings this summer, with 4 more to go. Despite the unfortunate British weather we’ve been having this summer, the screenings so far have been a success. This weekend at RRY we’re getting out the deck chairs, headsets and blankets and collaborating with the ‘Patty Pimps and Purveyors of Filth’ putting up a huge screen for film and food lovers. Theming up burgers with cult classics The Big Lebowski and Withnail and I.

It was an easy choice for us as Withnail and Big Lebowski are 2 of our favourite films. I've never been one for rewatching films over and over but I couldn't tell you how many times I’ve watched either. They're laugh-out-loud classics with great soundtracks

- Tom and Scott creators of OPM on their decision to collaborate with RRY.

With just 2 weeks remaining of Rum Runner Yard’s Summer Screenings, Birmingham burger legends Original Patty Men are taking over to deliver their famous burgers to film and food lovers. The iconic burger creators broke onto the street food scene at Birmingham’s own Digbeth Dining Club, gaining an exceptional cult following with the sole aim of bringing the perfect burger to the masses (they succeeded). OPM were RRY’s first collaboration last year with Arnies Appetiser, a big sellout as they created the Mars Burger which viewers inhaled whilst watching Total Recall.

First screening in the OPM takeover is The Big Lebowski, Friday 25th August with the ‘IN AND OUTIE’ burger, an aged patty with American cheese, white Russian burger sauce and fresh tomato.

We kept it simple and based it on one of the chains classics with a touch of white Russian sauce for reference sake…

- OPM on their The Big Lebowski burger creation.

The second evening of OPM deliciousness is Withnail and I, Saturday 26th August with the ‘UNCLE MONTY’S BURGLARY’ burger, an aged patty, black pudding, pickled camberwell carrot, whisky deep heat sauce and cheddar cheese.

There were too may food references, so we went with black pudding, pickled camberwell carrot and whisky deep heat sauce because it was a great combo

- The guys from OPM on designing their Withnail and I burger.

Vegetarian option will be available for each screening, more details to be released on Regency Wharf social media.

RRY are offering the opportunity to enjoy a combination of open air screening and an OPM burger included in one ticket. Tickets are £15 including film and food, and shorts courtesy of Flatpack before the film.
