Lord Digby Jones to speak at Birmingham charity networking lunch
In support of the David Bucknall Scholarship Fund, Birmingham Best Practice Club has announced Lord Digby Jones will act as key speaker alongside rugby legend David Duckham at its annual Charity Networking Lunch this September.
In association with Birmingham Moseley Rugby Club and its main sponsors Rider Levett Bucknall (RLB) and Birmingham City University (BCU), the charity event is to be held at the rugby club on Friday 22nd September 2017.
Lord Digby Jones will provide an inspiring presentation on the status of the Midland construction industry and the skills, training and education required for the new generation.
Speaking of the charity event, Adam Ellis-Morgan, managing partner at RLB, says:
The former director general of the CBI and minister of state for trade and investment, Lord Digby Jones, will no doubt provide an inspirational and insightful speech. Lord Jones has been at the forefront of many British businesses for years and has a down-to-earth approach in addressing the problems many British businesses face.
All profits from the event will go to the David Bucknall Sponsorship Fund, founded.in memory of David Bucknall, one of the key founders of the Birmingham Best Practice Club and one of Birmingham’s most influential property professionals. The scholarship is funded by private donations from David’s friends and colleagues, and run by RLB in partnership with BCU.
The scholarship offers a combination of financial support and work experience, creating the opportunity for the successful student to embark on a career in the property and construction industry.
In financial terms, the David Bucknall Scholarship is worth £10,500 over three years to a school leaver studying for a BSc or BEng in a built environment subject in the Faculty of Computing, Engineering and the Built Environment at Birmingham City University.
Birmingham Best Practice Club’s charity event is the ideal opportunity to network with peers in property, construction and skills development whilst enjoying a three-course lunch and supporting an outstanding charity.
