Leee John on the lookout for Birmingham’s brightest talent

The lead singer of world famous funk and soul band, Imagination, is looking for a talented Birmingham artist to support his live show at The Jam House this October.

Leee John has a flourishing career, which can boast platinum selling albums, several No.1 hits around the world and even performances for the Royal Family, Princess Diana, The Mandela Family and a Russian President.

His band, Imagination, enjoyed huge chart success in the 1980s, with their biggest hits “Just An Illusion”, “Body Talk”, “In And Out Of Love” and “Flashback”, selling more than 30 million records worldwide.

Speaking of this unique opportunity, he said:

All any young and aspiring musician really needs is that one big break to kickstart their career. I thought what better way to give someone that chance than to be able to perform in front of a sell out crowd at the Jam House.
There’s a monumental amount of talent right here in Birmingham and I want to be able to push that talent out there for everyone to hear and see for themselves.
I want someone whose music makes people feel good, that’s the most important thing. Whether it’s soul, jazz or even just you and your guitar I want to hear what you’ve got.

John Bunce, general manager at the Jam House, said:

Leee has enjoyed almost 40 years of phenomenal worldwide success. We have enjoyed having him here in Birmingham many times and he is always a popular choice for our regulars. To see him giving young Birmingham talent an opportunity of this kind is fantastic and we are proud to be able to support it.

Anyone interested in performing alongside Leee John is asked to send their work to archie@bossamusic.co.uk by Friday, 30th September 2016.

Leee John will be performing at The Jam House on Wednesday, 5th October. Doors open at 6pm and the show starts at 8.30pm.
