Fundraising luncheons raise £16,000 towards the Birmingham Big Art Project
Friday 23rd October was an exciting date for the Big Art Project, as Andy Street, Managing Director of the John Lewis Partnership and Chairman of the Greater Birmingham and Solihull LEP, attended a special fundraising lunch at the Hotel du Vin & Bistro.
Addressing a room full of nearly 100 corporate guests, Glyn Pitchford, Chairman of the Big Art Project, kicked off the event with an introductory speech. Andy Street then captured his audience by discussing John Lewis' arrival into Birmingham, how he has achieved great success at the John Lewis Partnership and the role Birmingham has to play in driving the UK's economy.
During Andy's insightful speech, guests enjoyed a two course lunch and glass of wine, all part of the fundraising effort to place Birmingham on the World map.
Meanwhile, on Tuesday 27th October, attendees at the Hyatt Regency Birmingham were treated to lunch and a whole lot of laughter, as special guest Jasper Carrott entertained the crowd.
Both events raised around £3,000 towards The Birmingham Big Art Project, with John Lewis and Pertemps kindly donating a huge £5,000 each.
