EGX, 24-27 September, The NEC Birmingham

EGX – the UK’s largest gaming event – has moved from London to Birmingham’s NEC and will be inviting gamers from all over the country to come and play the biggest games in the world before they are available in the shops!

The show already boasts huge AAA blockbusters like Assassins Creed Syndicate, Just Cause 3 and Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Siege. Plus loads of brilliant new Indie games in the Leftfield collection.

On top of this Virgin Media are offering £5,000 to the winner of their Hexathlon contest and Gfinity have invited some of the biggest names in eSports along to take part in a tournament with a massive prize pot of £100K.

Alongside the usual colourful Cosplayers, YouTube Superstars The Yogscast and a career fair to help you get a job in gaming.

The UK games industry was worth close to £3.5bn in consumer spend in 2013. It generates £2bn in global sales each year and contributes more than £1bn to national GDP. And the UK has the largest games development community in Europe, with over 250 development studios.
