Czech airlines announces Birmingham-Prague from April 16
Czech Airlines has become the eleventh new airline this year to announce that it will launch flights from Birmingham Airport.
Commencing flights to Prague five times a week from April 2016, the flag carrier for the Czech Republic will deliver an additional 50,000 passengers through the airport a year and open up more connections throughout Eastern Europe.
William Pearson, Birmingham Airport’s Aviation Development Director, said:
Prague is a brand new route from Birmingham so we are delighted that Czech Airlines has confirmed they will launch services from Birmingham and also introduce this key destination for both business and leisure travel, and to connect onwards beyond Prague to Czech Airlines’ network.
The schedule, commencing on Friday 22nd April 2016, will be as follows:
Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays: arrive into Birmingham 1700 and depart Birmingham 1740.
Thursdays: arrive into Birmingham at 1850 and depart at 1930
Sundays: arrive into Birmingham at 2000 and depart at 2040
The five weekly flights will be operated by an Airbus A319 aircraft, with a 10 business class and 120 economy cabin configuration.
Mr Pearson added:
We know from CAA data that 30% of the passengers travelling to Prague from our one hour catchment travel for business reasons so we’re pleased that Czech Airlines will offer business class on the route.
