Cadbury World hits the right note with latest creation

Cadbury World’s talented chocolatiers have revealed their latest chocolatey masterpiece; a miniature concert grand piano in celebration of the National Youth Orchestra of Great Britain’s upcoming performance at Symphony Hall, Birmingham.

The grand piano is one of Cadbury World’s most detailed creations to date and is modelled on the instrument used in performances by the orchestra. The intricate design features all 88 keys, an open lid with an exposed ‘belly’, and carefully crafted strings and soundboard.

Weighing 2kg – the equivalent of 44 bars of standard Cadbury Dairy Milk – the piano took 2 chocolatiers 2 days to make using a mix of milk and white chocolate on site at the Cadbury World attraction in Bournville.

As well as the chocolate piano, members of the National Youth Orchestra of Great Britain surprised Cadbury World guests this weekend, as a wind quintet delighted visitors with a mixture of classical and pop music in special pop-up performances.

Diane Mitchell, marketing manager at Cadbury World said; “The collaboration between Cadbury World and Town Hall Symphony Hall has been music to the ears and eyes of our visitors. To have beautiful live music echoing through Cadbury World was a real treat and the chocolate grand piano is a testament to the talent and creativity of our chocolatiers. We can’t wait for visitors to see this beautiful creation’s intricate details up-close.”

The latest Cadbury World chocolate creation follows on from a number of eye-popping designs from the chocolatiers, including a hatching chocolate baby dinosaur to celebrate the arrival of ‘Dippy’ the Diplodocus at Birmingham Museum and Art Gallery and a solid chocolate Windsor Castle to mark the wedding of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex.

The National Youth Orchestra of Great Britain will perform at Symphony Hall, Birmingham on Friday 3rd August. The orchestra is a 164-strong collective of highly talented teenagers conducted by composer Sir George Benjamin with Grammy Award Nominee, solo pianist Tamara Stefanovich. No matter the weather, Cadbury World is choc-full off fun for the entire family. In the 4D Chocolate Adventure zone, guests can experience the feeling of diving into melted chocolate and ride on the Crunchie Rollercoaster – all without leaving their motion seats – before watching the masterful chocolatiers in action in the Chocolate Making zone, complete with a pot of delicious melted Cadbury Dairy Milk topped with your favourite treat.

Guests can travel back 1,000 years to discover the origins of chocolate in the Aztec Jungle or hop on board a ‘Beanmobile’ on the Cadabra ride and take a magical journey through the chocolate land of Beanville.

Visitors can take their pick from plenty of tasty dishes in the Cadbury Café including an array of mouth-watering summer specials, and no visit is complete without a stop off at The World’s Biggest Cadbury Shop – the perfect place to stock up on favourite Cadbury treats.
