Cadbury World creates Library of Birmingham model for 1st Birthday celebrations
The talented team of chocolatiers at Cadbury World has once again shown off its impressive skills by immortalising a Birmingham landmark, having crafted the one year old Library of Birmingham out of Cadbury Dairy Milk.
Eight of the in-house chocolatiers team at Cadbury World have been working hard to re-create one of Birmingham’s newest and most impressive buildings. The intricate model will be on display in the library’s foyer from 30th September, complete with the rooftop gardens, Shakespeare room and external detailing all handcrafted from chocolate.
The library is one of the largest creations by the chocolatiers at the Bournville based attraction, with the whole team involved in constructing the 1m2 building, which also stands at an impressive 80cm tall.
Diane Mitchell, marketing manager at Cadbury World, said:
“Cadbury World is delighted to be able to take part in the celebration of one of Birmingham’s newest establishments. Our team of chocolatiers were met with an enormous challenge, but also a great deal of fun, when creating their replica of this iconic building.
“We hope that this will go a long way towards making the Library of Birmingham’s first birthday a momentous occasion and that visitors enjoy seeing one of our city’s finest sites, re-rendered in chocolate.”
Sara Rowell, partnerships and marketing senior manager at the Library of Birmingham, added:
“It’s been a fantastic first year for the Library, and we have now welcomed over three million visitors. We were thrilled by Cadbury World’s offer to help celebrate our first birthday with this amazing model. The Library of Birmingham is a brilliant learning resource and visitor attraction for our city and it is very positive to have the support of one of the region’s most popular attractions.”
