Birmingham St. Patrick’s Festival Announce South and City College as Official Sponsors of the Emerald Mile

The Organising Committee of the Birmingham St. Patrick’s Festival and Parade are delighted to announce the return of the Emerald Mile, which will take place once again on the parade route ahead of the procession on March 11th 2018.

South and City College are returning for the second year as the official sponsors of the Emerald Mile. The Emerald Mile kicks off proceedings in Digbeth at 10.30 am outside South and City college, which will also act as race HQ for runner registrations and a secure area for runners to leave belongings.

The Emerald Mile will see participants run, jog, walk and dance their way around the two miles of the Parade route in their best fancy dress.

You can currently register to enter the fun run, and registration closes at 10am on Thursday 8th March 2018. The first 30 runners will also receive a branded memento ‘I ran the Emerald Mile’ t-shirt courtesy of South and City College. All participants will also be automatically entered into the draw to win some incredible prizes.

Mike Hopkins, Principal of South and City College, explains:

“South and City College has sponsored and supported the St Patrick’s Festival and Parade for a number of years now; it’s one of the highlights on the college events calendar.

Our Digbeth campus is open every year to welcome visitors to the parade with refreshments, music and a place to rest and relax during the day’s busy activities and our music and media students get some great experience putting together the music show for the general public who call in to watch the acts.

We are delighted to be the official sponsor for the Emerald Mile and we are very much looking forward to cheering on all the runners and walkers on the day!”

To register to take part in the Emerald Mile please visit www.stpatricksbirmingham.com/emerald-mile Registration closes at 10am on Thursday 8th March 2018.
