Birmingham has more Michelin-starred restaurants than any other UK city outside London
The 2016 Michelin Guide announced yesterday that Birmingham’s Carters earned one star bringing the city’s total to five alongside Purnell’s, Adam’s, Simpsons and Turners.
Carters of Moseley in Birmingham gaining a star brings the city’s tally to five, making it the second-most awarded city after London.
Emma Gray, Director of Marketing and Communications at Marketing Birmingham, commented on the news that Carters of Moseley now has a Michelin star:
It is fantastic news that the hard work and creativity of Brad Carter, Holly Jackson and their team have secured a Michelin star. Carters of Moseley joins four other brilliant restaurants in Birmingham that are listed in the Michelin Guide. The city now has more Michelin-starred restaurants than anywhere in the UK outside London, demonstrating that it still offers one of the most exciting and innovative food scenes in the UK.
Birmingham has something to offer all tastes - from classic fine dining to boutique cafes, bustling street food to our famed Balti Triangle. With Carters of Moseley now recognised by Michelin, it's no surprise that the city's international reputation for culinary excellence continues to rise every year.
