Aston Villa will take the lead against Arsenal - according to Sea Life penguins!
It’s been a fantastic season for Aston Villa and it’s set to get even better if the Gentoo penguins at The National Sea Life Centre Birmingham are to be believed – they’re predicting a win against reigning FA Cup Champions, Arsenal.
The centre’s resident tweeting penguin, Ginny, has confidently put her neck on the line or more specifically, in the bucket, on behalf of the colony to forecast victory for Villa at the 2015 final on 30th May, despite the odds being on Arsenal to win.
Naomi Bird, Aquarist at the underwater themed attraction, comments: “Our penguins love getting the chance to put their psychic abilities to the test, especially Ginny. Anyone that follows her on Twitter will know that she’s got such a big personality and likes to make herself heard so she was determined to be at the forefront of the predictions this time around!
“We put out two identical buckets for the penguins to choose from and there was no hesitation in Ginny’s decision, she’s certain that the Birmingham-based team will be the one to win. Get your TVs tuned for the 17.30 kick off and we’ll see if she’s right!”
Anyone wanting to pay the psychic penguin colony a visit should head there this week as the attraction is hosting a fun-filled Ancient Oceans event (runs until 31st May).
A host of exciting activities, workshops and talks will take and the charismatic Dr Dug is on hand to oversee archaeological digs, where guests can dig deep and hunt for historic fossils!
Visitors will also get the opportunity to learn about the fascinating history of the oceans and the evolution of the mesmerising sea creatures, some of which have been around for over 200 million years.
The aquarium is home to over 2,000 creatures, such as sharks, as well as a rescued Giant Green Sea Turtle, jellyfish, piranha, octopus and rays.
