The world’s most prestigious cocktail competition has a Birmingham bartender for the first time and he is from ‘The Edgbaston’
Bacardi Legacy is one of the most prestigious competitions in the world renowned for seeking out only the most skilled and dedicated bartenders.
Bacardi Legacy is not just a one day event, the competition stretches over six months taking finalists across the world in the goal of ultimately winning the title of Bacardi Legacy Champion.
Using ingredients only available to Cuban Cantineros behind their bars in the 1920's Robert has created a new cocktail which he named Cubanisima. Looking to capture the vibrancy and electricity in atmosphere that made cocktail parties at the legendary Mezzanine Bar at Bacardi's old art deco Havana headquarters so exciting.
Roberts recipe uses a combination of citrus fruits,sweetened with homemade natural fruit syrups of pineapple and pomegranate;italian vermouth,orange curacao and a large measure of Bacardi Superior.
Robert fought off 10 other competitors from around the Central region to make his way to the UK final.
