Birmingham is a great city to explore by foot, there is so much to see and do. The city is full of open and inviting pedestrianised areas, so it’s easy to take a safe stroll around the city. There are attractions, shops and places to eat and drink all close by.
You will be able to plan your journey from your arrival point in the city centre using the Interconnect Birmingham on street totems.
These show the pedestrian route network, railway stations, car parks, bus interchanges and metro stops. You will be able to identify your destination and follow your route using the heads up mapping, and estimated walk times. Or link into public transport to continue a longer onward journey.
The visitor map is also available to download in advance.
The national currency is Great British Pounds (£) and most venues accepts Visa and MasterCard payment.
A small number of venues accept Euros although the exchange rate is sometimes unfavorable.
For the latest exchange rates visit www.xe.com.
After a busy day, it’s nice to relax and unwind, taking in the nightlife that’s on offer.
Some venues will not allow trainers, sportswear or scruffy jeans so generally a good rule of thumb would be to opt for ‘smart casual’ attire.
