Food & Shopping
Shopping in Birmingham offers you everything you could ever want in an attractive and compact space, with plenty of great café bars and restaurants to keep you going.
Morning: City Centre Shopping
Bullring, right in the heart of the city centre, is always a great place to start a day of shopping. There are over 160 stores for you to explore including the iconic Selfridges department store, one of the city’s most distinctive landmarks. With an in-store experience that is equally as show-stopping and the hottest new designers and most-wanted brands all under one roof.
After a morning shopping, what better way to recharge your batteries than canalside at Birmingham’s Brindleyplace. Choose from award-winning fine-dining restaurants, relaxed family eateries or canalside bars and cafes, there is something for all tastes and budgets.
For a taste of authentic American food try Coast to Coast at 9 Brindleyplace for good quality food, drinks and good times!
Afternoon: Jewellery Quarter
A short stroll up the canal brings you to the Jewellery Quarter, the beating heart of Britain’s jewellery manufacturing. With over 100 independent specialist retailers and craftspeople, and 2 museums to be found, it is a wonderful place to explore.
Evening: Balti Triangle
About 3 miles from the City Centre is the Balti Triangle, the centre of Asian cuisine. There is a better selection of Asian and Indian restaurants in Birmingham than anywhere else in the country. You will also find a veritable treasure-trove of Asian jewellers, traditional dress-makers and delicious sweet shops.
For a wide range of delicious authentic balti dishes why not try Shabab Balti Restaurant on Ladypool Road, a traditional family-owned restaurant in the heart of the Balti Triangle.
