Mini Marriott Spa Break
I was recently fortunate enough to walk down the road from the Visit Birmingham hub to the 4 star Marriott Hotel to enjoy a short break at their spa facilities.
Like many of us out there I’m a pretty busy girl and in-between work and social events there isn’t much me time, so when Marriott came calling offering me a treatment at their spa it’s needless to say I jumped at the chance!
As I arrived at this beautiful, classic hotel I started getting pretty excited about what I was to experience.
Upon my entrance to the spa I was warmly welcomed by the wonderful staff, who instantly made me feel relaxed and calm, and this was before I had even set foot in a treatment room! The spa’s newly redecorated modern reception offers a serene and inviting atmosphere, enabling guests to be transported into a pampering haven straight away.
The team offered me drinks and were very accommodating to what treatment I was looking for. After about a second of deliberation I opted for a full body massage and this was definitely a great choice. Before the treatment I was asked to fill out a treatment form whilst in a ‘Relaxation room’, I was so relaxed in this scented, lightly lit room I was struggling to complete the form, but I managed to get it done just in time for my massage. At this point I was able to specify exactly what I wanted from pressure to areas I felt needed focus on, leaving me feeling very confident in what was to come and the team.
During the treatment all thoughts emptied out of my head, I spent the next hour so relaxed I was resting in that wonderfully tranquil place between being awake and asleep. Everything I had specified in my form was done, and I have to say it was one of the best massages I have ever had. Afterwards I wasn’t surprised to learn it was one of their most popular treatments they offer, with my spa therapist Stacey stating:
The most popular treatments at Marriott Birmingham are the massages as they're relaxing and help break down all the tension built up from the strains and stresses of life
That it certainly did!
The spa itself has a fantastic assortment of facilities from restful treatments rooms, a relaxing pool, huge jacuzzi and steam room, along with a fully furnished gym which has some exciting development plans, including an extention and new state of the art equiptment. These facilities are available to guests, members or those visiting on a spa break.
As we all know that time of year is coming up, that’s right folks as the famous Coca Cola advert states ‘Holidays are coming’. After such a wonderful experience I really can’t think of a better way of getting rested and ready for the festive season than treating yourself to a pampering session at the Marriott Spa, or why not take the Marriott’s advice and offer this as a gift?
Stacey told us:
Our spa facilities and treatments make a perfect Christmas gift because spa days at the Birmingham Marriott can offer a great relaxing atmosphere with our great facilities and indulgent treatments which can all be given to a loved one who deserves a nice spa day as a lovely gift voucher which can be brought at our leisure reception.
So with Christmas present ideas sorted and feeling rejuvenated I ventured upstairs to meet my colleague Paul to sample the Marriott New Years Eve menu. What I didn't know at this point was I was about the have the lunch of all lunches! Find out why here.
