Places to sing christmas carols in Birmingham
Whether it’s Deck the Halls, Silent Night or a rousing rendition of We Three Kings, there’s nothing more satisfying than belting out a good ol’ Christmas carol. Here’s a round-up of where you can have a jolly good sing song this Yuletide, (or stay stum and enjoy the pipes of professionals)…
1. Christmas Festival, Symphony Hall, 18 December
This is the big one – Jonathan Cohan leads us through some Christmas bangers with special guest Louise Dearman. Accompanied by the London Concert Orchestra and Concert Chorus you can raise the roof to such classics as Jingle Bells, Good King Wenceslas, Frosty the Snowman and I Wish It Could Be Christmas Everyday… Everybody now..

2. St Paul’s Church, various December dates
Soak up the Christmassy atmosphere in the fabulous surrounds of St. Paul’s Church whilst listening to old favourites, interspersed with readings of the season. We guarantee you’ll leave with a warm glow.
- Thursday 14th December - 1pm Community Carol Service
- Sunday 24th December 6pm - Christmas Eve JQ Carol Service
- Monday 25th December - 10.30am Christmas Day Holy Communion
- Sunday 31st December - 10.30am - New Year's Eve Holy Communion
3. Carols in the Caverns, 17 December
CUCKOOOOO, ECHO ECHO, QUACK QUACK. Usual things I say when passing through a tunnel; but not on the 17th December. I’ll be experiencing a unique festive treat when Dudley’s underground tunnels come alive with the sound of traditional Christmas carols. I can’t think of anything more Christmassy.

4. Birmingham Cathedral, 18 & 20 December
Birmingham’s beautiful Cathedral is hosting a number of carol services in the run up to Christmas. They include Christian Aid Carols in Cathedral Square (AKA Pigeon Park) on the 18th and the cathedral’s main Christingle service on the 20th, where each child will get a Christingle (you know, one of those oranges with a red ribbon and a candle).Find out more here
5. Birmingham's Frankfurt Christmas Market, Victoria Square
Led by everyone's favourite singing festive moose, Chris Moose, head to the Frankfurt Market by the steps of the Council House to join Chris in a sing-song. There's also live singing/crooning entertainment at the large stall outside Nosh & Quaff! I fancy a festive singing session, tell me more!
Yes, yes, no doubt we’ve missed some! Let us know if you are hosting carols and we might include you in the list (if you’ve been good!)
