Don’t stay in a stable! Our recommendations of great places to stay in Birmingham this Christmas
Ahhh Christmas, some say it is the most wonderful time of the year… some say it is the most stressful. However, us Brummies’ do not believe in Christmas being stressful, we believe in Christmas being a time to be selfish and relax. So, to make the most of your festive jaunt to Birmingham we highly recommend you STAY OVER!
Whether your visiting to get the dreaded Christmas shopping done, watch a magical play, enjoy the famous Frankfurt Christmas Market or to spending the big day away from home, why rush off?
Stay over, relax and make the most of what you will soon be calling the most ‘relaxing’ time of the year!
The Highfield Town House
For the best of both worlds The Highfield Town House is the perfect Christmas hide away and still only down the road from the hustle and bustle of the city centre. Close enough you are only a 10-min taxi away, but far enough away, you can escape. With each room individually designed their first class gastro pub next door and Edgbaston’s festive light displays a Highfield Christmas is so great it could be on a Christmas card. FACT!
If you are looking for the ultimate lazy Christmas get away, where you barely have to move, then The Belfry is an excellent choice. A wonderland of pure cosiness and luxury. With a wide range of packages on offer with everything, all on one site, including spa, restaurants, bars, golf and bedrooms, you can consider Christmas sorted. For ultimate Christmas laziness, we recommend booking in for their 2 day Christmas break. Cooking your own turkey is soooo overrated anyway.
If you are hitting the shops in Birmingham this Christmas (and why would you not they are awesome?) you need something a bit more central. So treat yourself and head to one the city’s most elegant hotels the Hyatt Regency. Within walking distance of the Frankfurt Christmas Market and some of the city’s top theatres, it is in a great location to enjoy all the city has the offer this festive period, all finished off by a crisp G&T in their fabulous Gentleman and scholar bar, Cheers!!!
Hotel Du Vin
If you are looking for a hotel with a bit of boutique charm and warm fuzzy traditional Christmas glow then Hotel Du Vin is the one for you. This stunning Victorian hotel with a modern twist offers city centre location with a sprinkling of escapism on offer due to its cosy aura. This season divulge in their French style Christmas menus, sink into the comfortable beds and relax in their tranquil spa.
Radisson Blu Hotel
The Radisson Blu Hotel is one of the tallest and most recognisable buildings in the city, great news if you are prone to getting lost, just look for the big blue building. However, as it is only spitting distance from the famous Bullring shopping centre we are sure getting lost won’t be an issue. With rooms offering spectacular views of the city, a chic bar and restaurant, it is city living at its best.
A hotel for those of us who like city breaks but on a budget with first class style, Bloc Hotel offers contemporary comfortable rooms without breaking the bank balance (which at Christmas is always a good thing). The perfect hotel for a restful sleep after a few Gluhweins at the Frankfurt Christmas market, in the heart of the sparkling Jewellery Quarter.
Obviously this is just a sample of some of the fabulous hotels Birmingham has to offer this Christmas, or indeed all year round!
