Merchant Taylors’ Remembrance Concert
250,000 boys under the age of 19 fought in WW1. It is estimated that half of those young people who fought on the front line were wounded, died or taken prisoner. They are being honoured on this poignant occasion through a concert of remembrance and hope, performed by talented young musicians from across the UK.
The Remembrance Concert is at the Birmingham Symphony Hall - widely considered one of the finest concert halls in the world — on Sunday 11th November 2018 at 2.30pm.
You and your family are invited to attend this open concert which will include a celebration of art, readings, poetry and musical performances. The distant sound of gunshot, photographs of soldiers and communities from WWI as well as a poignant shower of poppies will set the scene as generations come together to help mark the end of the First World War. The concert will culminate in an extraordinary combined choir and orchestral performance of Mozart's Requiem, one of the most famous works in the classical repertoire, conducted by the CBSO’s Michael Seal.
Tickets for this unique event are available from Birmingham Symphony Hall, visit www.thsh.co.uk/event/remembrance-concert for more details. Tickets range from £10 - £25 and tickets for children under 16 are only £5.
