Theatreland
Theatreland is home to the UK’s busiest theatre, great comedy clubs, the UK’s oldest working cinema and more!
Theatreland
Situated in the Southside area of the city centre. You’ll find it between Chinatown, the Gay Village and New Street Station, just a few minutes’ walk from the city centre.
The hard-working Hippodrome, the UK’s busiest theatre, plays host to an incredible range of large touring productions, the finest comedy and music performances every year and is also home to the Birmingham Royal Ballet.
Just down the road is the beautiful Alexandra Theatre, another must-stop for major touring productions. Whilst, home to the Birmingham Stage Company and bringing newly written works to the city, the Old Rep Theatre on Station Street is a Birmingham institution.
The nearby Electric Cinema is the oldest operating cinema in the country and shows an envious programme of new releases, vintage classics and the best of world cinema in comfort and style.
