Beyoncé's Bootylicious Balti

All the single ladies and independent women are getting ready to party, the tickets sold out weeks ago and you can’t get them anywhere, the Beyoncé band wagon is rolling into Birmingham this weekend at the LG Arena. But what will she do whilst she’s in the city, perhaps go for a Balti?

This week a VisitEngland survey listed feasting on a Balti in Birmingham as one of the 101 things to do in the country before you leave. Free Radio wanted to make sure that Beyoncé doesn’t miss out on the chance of this treat because she’s too busy performing.

Ahead of the gig presenter Russ Morris delivered a specially commissioned Beyoncé Bootylicious Balti hamper to the LG Arena for the megastar. The special ingredients were created between Free Radio and Birmingham based Indian food manufacturer East End Foods, along with a recipe card explaining how to make use of the ingredients (just in case she’s not too familiar with the dish).

Paul Deep, Sales Director at East End Foods said:

We were a bit taken aback when Free Radio asked if we could help them create a Beyoncé Balti, but you never know if she likes it we could be seeing her own range of Beyoncé Bootylicious Balti’s on the supermarket shelves in the future."

Following the delivery to the LG Arena stage door Free Radio presenter Russ Morris added:

I’m not sure if she’ll like it but it’s something we’re proud of round here. She’ll probably get husband Jay-Z to knock it up for her in the kitchen at home, you never know perhaps they’ll add to the Midlands theme by washing it down with a pint of Banks’s bitter as well."

Free Radio will also be giving away a precious pair of tickets to the gig on air Friday 26 April.
