Aston Manor: from orchard to glass

The cider category is the fastest growing part of the drinks market, particularly in the take home sector.

Aston Manor is only cider maker that offers a product to enjoy on any occasion and in any company with a portfolio of products spanning the breadth of different ciders available.

Peter Ellis, managing director of Aston Manor said:

We are an independent family-owned business that has grown successfully to become the largest independent cider maker in the UK.
We are proud to manage our own orchards and the quality of our operations right from those orchards to the glass of cider enjoyed by consumers.
There has been such innovation and dynamism in the cider market in the last decade and we have more than played our part in that.

Not just in product development and quality does Aston Manor leads the way, but also in packaging – as evidenced by Press 81, an innovative premium product in an aluminium bottle with a unique temperature sensitive element to ensure the perfect serve.

The flexibility of the business means that it is the only producer to provide bespoke bottles for stadia and festivals where glass would be prohibited.

Aston Manor uses this outstanding capability for its own brands and other major drinks producers.

Investment in brands

People can expect to see much more in terms of success for Aston Manor as it increases the investment the business makes in its brands.

Leading this is industry heavyweight and recent recruit Gordon Johncox.

He said:

Even with my experience, it wasn’t until I looked closer at Aston Manor that I understood fully how good a business it was and how well it is at delivering great products to enjoy.
In Frosty Jack’s we have one of the most popular cider brands in the country. We are only just starting to consider what we can do in terms of developing Frosty Jack’s.
Then with Crumpton Oaks, Golden Valley and Kingstone Press amongst others we have brands of real quality with great potential. All drinks that show how great English cider can be
All of our major brands are already growing well ahead of the competition.
We are very excited about helping more people discover the taste and refreshment that great cider can offer.

With sites in Devon and Malvern as well as Birmingham, the business is gearing up to help build the cider success story even further.
